Bobbie Ruben: Biography

Fabric screen-printer and technical assistant, Charles Darwin University

Bobbie Ruben is a practising screen printer and textile artist, currently working as lecturer and technician in the printmaking department in the School of Creative Arts and Humanities, Charles Darwin University.

Ruben works with Indigenous students on campus, and she has also conducted workshops in textile design with artists on remote communities. In 2001 Ruben set up Speargrass Textile Art, a studio based textile design and screen printing venture whereby she has completed numerous private and public commissions, supplying either printed fabrics or designs, to public institutions, corporations, resorts and schools. She completed a Bachelor of Visual Art at Charles Darwin University in 2003.
